Sourcing & Traceability
Since 2020, the cocoa liquor for our Finest Belgian Chocolates, such as 811 and 823, is made from traceable cocoa beans. The lots of beans can be traced back to the farming communities in Ghana, Ivory Coast and Ecuador which we buy directly from. With this traceability guarantee, we want to be transparent about the communities who grow our beans.
Supporting Cocoa Farmers
Through Cocoa Horizons, Callebaut supports cocoa farmers with educational, environmental, community, and work assistance programs that empower farmers to increase production while becoming stewards of the land. Community programs offer training, income diversification, and savings accounts to support farm families and help grow and strengthen their communities.

Cocoa Horizons is an impact-led program with the mission to improve the livelihoods of cocoa farmers and their communities by promoting sustainable, entrepreneurial farming, improved productivity, and community development that protects nature and children.
